What Makes Australia Unique?

Of course the answer is that the country should posses something others don't have as their national symbol. That's why Australia has the kangaroo as their national symbol. The animal is a huge tourist attraction. Its meat also serves the locals as food.

The kangaroo serves the country in sports as well. Their skin is used to produce leather and the leather produced is said to be one of the toughest in the world. It is usually used to make a football shoes as it can be cut to very small layers and still be 10 times more tensile than cow hide. Nearly 7 million kangaroos are used for it each year.

Kangaroo leather has properties that allow it to adapt to the player's foot. It actually sticks to the player's foot tightly too provide maximum control.

There are many companies using kangaroo leather to make football shoes but Adidas is currently leading all.

The concept of kangaroo leather shoes was first introduced by Liverpool Midfielder Craig Johnston in 1993. He introduced the shoes but five years ago denied any further production of shoes by kangaroo leather as he disagreed with the killings of the kangaroos required to produce them. He supported synthetic football shoes to kangaroo leather football shoes.

Because the shoes are made famous by top players, the demand by fans for them is great. It cultivated ground for more kangaroo killings which is unacceptable and controversial.

Kangaroos have shown a rapid decline in their species due to this fact. Major organizations have demand these killings to be stopped as usually young kangaroos are left behind when mothers are killed.

Industries have tried to convince protestors that they kill these kangaroos quickly and painless, but this has no effect on the protestors. They say that the industries are subject to animal cruelty and that this should be stopped.
